Jennifer Hudson is a American actress, singer, and she has a talk show. Throughout her career, she has received various accolades for her works recorded music, films, movies, television, and all.

Journey to fame

Jennifer Kate Hudson is mostly a famous singer, American actor, who first collected attention on the reality tv show “American Idol” and later received acclaim for her music and acting. She has gotten a lot of grammys through her past years. Jennifer Hudson was born September 12, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. She went to Langston (Oklahoma) University. In 2001, she transferred to Kennedy-King college to study music and appear in a local musical production of “Big River”. Jennifer Hudson played and roled as Effie White in the movie “Dreamgirls”, inspired by supremes member Florence Ballard. After acting a role in “Dreamgirls”, Hudson decided to audition for American idol, where she reached final rounds before getting eliminated in seventh place. After performing for American idol, season three tour during the summer in 2004, Hudson performed at charity events on Broadway and completed a concert tour throughout the Midwest. 

Tragedy

In October 2008, the unthinkable happened to Jennifer Hudson herself and her family in this tragic unexpected event. Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother, and her 7 year old nephew, Julian King, was murdered in her hometown of Chicago. With such devastation, it would be understandable for anyone to shut down. Jennifer opened up to Glamour Magazine and stated, “It’s frustrating as hell to me to have somebody who ain’t lost nothing try to talk to me about it.” I want to say, ‘Don’t even bother, because you know nothing.’ But you never know how much you can get through until you’re going through it.” 

EGOT

Jennifer Hudson, her EGOT fame and her journey of how she made it this far till this day. Jennifer Hudson is opening up about becoming the 17th person in history to earn EGOT which stands for (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards) status. This year, she won a Tony for best musical earlier this summer. Hudson got a Grammy award in 2008 for best R&B album at the 2009 ceremony, got an Academy award in 2007, she got an Golden Globe award for Actress in a supporting role and best supporting actress in Motion Picture and musical drama of the movie “Dreamgirls”, and her awards and her honors goes on and on. Hudson scored her first Emmy upon taking home the award for “Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime program.

Her fame, her courage, and her passion all comes together in one big things and leading on to other things in her life, she still tries to keep it up.
