The polar express 

   The polar express first started as a book written in 1985 by Chris Van Allsburg, then was made into a movie in 2004 directed by Robert Zemeckis. The polar express is considered a classic Christmas movie for ages 5-11 but is really for anyone. The polar express won 2 awards, Bambi – International Film in 2004 and also Best Performance in a Feature Film – Young Ensemble Cast in 2005. 

    The polar express is about a boy who starts to lose hope in Santa Claus and gets on a train to the north pole to meet Santa with a group of other kids during the night. This trip on the train slowly changes his way of thinking and changes the way he sees things. This movie can help kids regain their belief in Santa Claus and bring a smile to their faces during Christmas.

  The Grinch

    How the Grinch stole Christmas was written in 1957 by Dr.Seuss. Then later in 2000 was turned into a movie directed by Ron Howard and won 10 awards. One of those awards was the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Movie. There is also a cartoon version of the Grinch that was made in 2018 directed by Scoot Mosier and Yarrow Cheney This movie is recommended for ages 7 and up.     

    The Grinch is about someone who lives on top of a mountain all alone. Above a town that is joyful and loves Christmas. They sing and dance and have Christmas lights everywhere and the Grinch decides to take their joy away by stealing Christmas presents, colorful lights, and instruments. But he doesn’t realize that Christmas is more than lights and presents. it’s more about who you have. This movie teaches kids that Christmas is more than just presents. It is about who you’re with and why you should be grateful for what you have and receive.
